  • 8 ounces spaghetti
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 0.25 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 0.25 cup Parmesan cheese grated
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Cooking Steps

  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add spaghetti and cook until al dente, about 8 to 10 minutes, reserving ½ cup pasta water before draining.
  • While pasta cooks, combine butter and olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once butter is melted and foaming, add garlic, Italian seasoning and red pepper flakes. Sauté until fragrant, about 1 to 2 minutes.
  • Add cooked pasta to the skillet. Toss with the sauce, adding reserved pasta water a little at a time until you reach your desired consistency.
  • Remove from heat and stir in Parmesan, parsley, salt and pepper. Serve immediately.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
Reheat gently in a skillet with a splash of water, bringing back that glossy sauce.
