Ingredients
  

Cake Layers

  • 2 cups cake flour sifted for lightness
  • 1.5 cups granulated sugar divided for flavors
  • 1 cup unsalted butter room temperature for easy creaming
  • 5 large eggs at room temperature for even mixing

Flavoring Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder for the chocolate layer
  • 1 cup strawberry puree for the strawberry flavor
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract for flavoring the vanilla layer

Instructions
 

Prepare the Cake

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour three 8-inch round cake pans.
  • In a bowl, mix cake flour and 1 cup of sugar. In another bowl, cream the butter and remaining sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then alternate adding dry ingredients and milk until combined.
  • Divide the batter into three bowls. Mix cocoa powder in one, vanilla extract in another, and strawberry puree in the last. Pour each flavor into its prepared pan.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool the cakes in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

To achieve the best flavor and texture, ensure your ingredients are at room temperature. Store any leftover cake in the refrigerator, tightly wrapped, for up to 5 days. It can also be frozen for up to 3 months, just be sure to wrap it well!
