  • 2/3 cup shortening (lard)
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 3.5 cups chopped rhubarb (the pieces should be 1/4 to 1/2 inch)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3 units eggs
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1.5 cups sugar
  • 3 tbsp flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
