  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup baking soda
  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon coarse sea salt

Instructions
 

  • In a bowl, mix warm water, brown sugar, and yeast; let it sit for about 5 minutes until foamy.
  • Add flour and salt to the yeast mixture. Stir until a dough forms, then knead for 5 minutes until smooth.
  • Let the dough rise in a warm area for about 1 hour, or until it doubles in size.
  • Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C); boil water with baking soda. Shape the dough into small bites, boil them for 30 seconds, then place on a baking sheet.
  • Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with coarse sea salt before baking.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.

Notes

Serve warm with mustard or cheese dip for best flavor.
