spaghetti

onion
finely chopped
1
carrot
finely chopped
1
celery stalk
finely chopped

cloves
garlic
minced

tomato paste

28 oz crushed tomatoes

cup
beef broth
1
tbsp
olive oil
1
tbsp
butter
1
tsp
dried Italian herbs
1
bay leaf
Salt & pepper to taste
Fresh basil & Parmesan for serving
Instructions
Heat olive oil in a large skillet, sauté onion, carrot, and celery until softened.
Add ground beef, season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned.
Stir in garlic and tomato paste, cook 1–2 minutes.
Add crushed tomatoes, broth/, herbs, and bay leaf. Simmer 30–40 minutes.
Meanwhile, cook spaghetti in salted water until al dente. Drain.
Toss pasta with some sauce, serve with extra sauce on top.
Garnish with Parmesan and basil.
Notes
Sauce can be made ahead and frozen. Add a splash of milk for extra richness.
