Cuisine American
- 3 cups cubed watermelon
- 1 cup crushed ice
- ¼ cup freshly squeezed lime or lemon juice
- 2 –4 tablespoons granulated sugar
Add the cubed watermelon, crushed ice, lime or lemon juice, and 2 tablespoons of sugar to a blender.
Blend on high until completely smooth.
Taste and add additional sugar (1–2 more tablespoons) if a sweeter slushie is desired. Blend briefly to combine.
Pour into glasses and serve immediately.
For a thicker slushie, freeze the watermelon cubes for 1–2 hours before blending.
Adjust sugar based on the natural sweetness of your watermelon — very ripe melon may need little to no added sugar.
Best served immediately; slushies melt and separate as they sit.
To make a spiked version, add 1–2 oz of tequila per serving for a Watermelon Margarita Slushie.
Leftovers can be frozen in ice pop molds for a fun treat.
